Upper One went to ARU Writtle for the Essex Schools Food & Farming Day. They were guided by their very own farmingsteward, Mrs Lesley Benton. Mrs Benton
accompanied the children on a journey of food, from “field to fork”. The children took part in many hands-on activities, fromgrinding grain and planting seeds, to tasting local produce.
Upper One met farm animals, watched sheep being sheared and learned how farmers care for crops and livestock. The day was lots of fun and it was lovely to share the day with over seventy Essex schools.
