What an incredible day the children had at Little Easton Manor, filled with exciting team- building activities, quality time together and, of course, delicious food! The day began with Lower Two taking part in a fun orienteering activities using iPads and QR codes, which gave them the opportunity to explore the beautiful grounds, while Upper Two enjoyed a cooking class where they made their own pizzas. Intermediate and Transition children enjoyed a fantastic day at Little Easton Manor this week, filled with exciting activities, creativity and team work. The day began with a Fairy Tale Hunt around the manor grounds, where the children worked together to discover clues linked to familiar fairy tales. At each station, the children collected letters and completed an activity to help them solve the final puzzle. The children particularly enjoyed building The 3 Little Pigs house out of sticks! We took a swimming team of boys and girls from Upper One, Lower Two and Upper Two boys to the ISA regional swimming gala on Thursday 8th October. The Children had a wonderful time and swam exceptionally well. The boys team came 5th, the girls team finished in 3rd place and over all we came 3rd. A brilliant result especially as there were twenty schools competing. At the moment, we are unsure whether any of our children have qualified for the National Finals, as we are still awaiting confirmation of the overall individual results.

On Wednesday 7th October, we took two girls’ teams and two boys’ teams to compete in the District Table Tennis Competition at Shenfield School. The children played incredibly well throughout the competition and produced some fantastic results. Our girls’ teams finished 1st and 2nd, while our boys’ teams achieved an excellent 2nd and 3rd place. It was a brilliant performance from all four teams, and the children should be extremely proud of their achievements.

On Tuesday 6th October, we took eight teams across to Old Brentwood’s for the District cross country competition. All the children ran extremely well. The children produced some wonderful results with 7 children going to the county finals. Our best team result was the Upper two girls who finished in second place.

What an incredible day we had when the amazing poet and rapper Kimba came to visit our school! Kimba performed his brilliant poetry for every class, filling the school with energy, rhythm and laughter. His performances were captivating, and the children loved listening to his clever wordplay and powerful delivery. But the excitement didn’t stop there…Kimba also delivered a poetry workshop for Intermediate up to Upper Two. He encouraged the children to experiment with words, ideas, rhythm and rhyme, showing them that everyone has a story to tell and a poem waiting to be written. The workshops were truly inspirational. Lower One and Upper One enjoyed a wonderful day at Little Easton Manor on Thursday, with a busy schedule designed to encourage teamwork, careful listening and, of course, lots of fun! The children enthusiastically took part in duck hunting, pizza making and pottery painting, as well as enjoying the opportunity to meet the resident alpacas. It was a brilliant day of experiencing learning outside the classroom.

On Tuesday 29th September, the U11 boys’ football team competed in the District Small Schools Football Cup. The boys played exceptionally well throughout the competition, reaching the final without losing a single game. The final proved to be a very close and exciting match, with the teams locked at 1–1 after both full time and extra time. The match was therefore decided by a penalty shootout. The boys showed great composure, keeping their nerve to secure the victory and be crowned District Small Schools Football Cup Champions. Congratulations to all the boys!

Lower 2 were invited to New Halls Harry Potter themed day. The day started with the sorting ceremony where house captains were chosen. Our very own Alex was selected as head of Slytherin House. The children then collected points during the various activities they participated in which would then be added up to determine who won the Quidditch Cup. The children took part in an art lesson where they used quill pens to draw a ‘Marauders Map’. They then played a game of Quidditch. The U9 mixed team travelled to Woodlands, Hutton on Friday 18th September to compete in the ISA Tag Rugby Tournament. The team produced an excellent performance, winning all four of their opening matches. In the final, they faced St Michael’s Preparatory School in a very closely contested match. The game finished 4–4, but due to our superior try count throughout the competition, we were crowned ISA Champions! The U11 Mixed Tag Rugby Team also travelled to Woodlands for their age group ISA Tag Rugby Competition.
