Theatre Club – Wizard of Oz

Children from the School Theatre Club (Lower Two and Upper Two) delighted pupils, staff and parents alike with their end-of-year production of The Wizard of Oz. Every child performed with tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism, showcasing their talents through acting, singing and dancing to deliver a truly outstanding performance. A huge thank you goes to all the parents who supported the production with costumes and hair styling. By working together, we were able to give the children a wonderful experience of staging a full production in our school hall.

Sports Day 2026

On Monday 6th July we held our annual sports day competition. The children had a great afternoon with all of them competing their hardest for their relevant teams. The final results were: 1st St. Patrick with 68 points 2nd St. George with 53 points 3rd St. David with 50 points 4th St. Andrew with 49 points

U11 Girls Regional Cricket Tournament 2026

On Tuesday 8th July, the U11 girls' cricket team competed in the Regional Cricket Tournament, held at the County Ground in Chelmsford. The girls played exceptionally well throughout the day, losing just one match and finishing as runners-up. This was a fantastic achievement and the girls should be incredibly proud of their performance, teamwork, and determination throughout the competition. Well done to everyone involved.

District Athletics 2026

On Tuesday 7th July we hosted the small schools district athletics competition at Brentwood school. All the children did very well and were a credit to the school. The final results were, West Horndon 6th, Woodlands 5th, Blackmore 4th, Willowbrook 3rd, St. Josephs 2nd and Ursuline first. The children were delighted to be crowned district champions.

U11 ISA Regional Triathlon 2026

On Wednesday 1st July, we took U11 girls' and boys' teams to Woodlands Hutton to compete in the ISA Regional Triathlon. The children had a fantastic day and showed great determination and resilience as they completed the swimming, cycling and running sections of the course.Their hard work and commitment were rewarded with some outstanding results. The boys' team finished in an excellent second place, while the girls' team were crowned ISA Regional Team Champions after a superb all-round performance. We also had  one of our children crowned ISA Regional Triathlon Champion.

U9 District Cricket Tournament 2026

On Tuesday 30th June, the U9 mixed cricket team competed in the District Cricket Tournament, held at Old Brentwood’s. The children played exceptionally well throughout the day, winning all of their pool matches before progressing to the final stages of the competition. Remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, they produced some outstanding cricket and were deservedly crowned District Champions.

U11 Girls County Cricket Tournament 2026

On Monday 29th June, the U11 girls' cricket team travelled to Billericay Cricket Club to compete in the County Finals. They won all five of their matches to remain unbeaten and were deservedly crowned County Champions. This is a fantastic achievement and means the team has now qualified for the Regional Finals, which will take place on Wednesday 8th July at the County Ground in Chelmsford, the home of Essex County Cricket Club. We wish the girls every success as they look to continue their remarkable run.

Upper Two – History Off The Page 2026

The Upper Two classroom was transformed into a 1940’s classroom for the morning, when ‘History Off the Page’ led an informative and enjoyable WW2 themed re-enactment day. Once Mr Shaw (our teacher) was in role, the Upper Two’s stepped into the shoes of evacuees and were soon dipping their nibs into ink pots to write down the morning prayer and calculate money problems with pre-decimalised coins. It became apparent after break that some of the class had undertaken several misdemeanours and broken 1940 rules (such as girls playing football!) at which Mr Shaw dealt out some severe (and fake) punishments, [...]

New Hall Science Fair 2026

On Tuesday, 23rd June, a team of pupils from Lower and Upper Two enjoyed a fantastic day at the New Hall Science Fair, taking part in an exciting range of hands-on STEM activities. Throughout the day, the children immersed themselves in a variety of experiences including designing, building and launching rockets, VR experiences and even using forensic evidence to solve a mock crime investigation. These activities encouraged teamwork, problem solving and scientific thinking. Upper One – Essex Schools Food and Farming Day at ARU Writtle 2026

Upper One went to ARU Writtle for the Essex Schools Food & Farming Day. They were guided by their very own farmingsteward, Mrs Lesley Benton. Mrs Benton accompanied the children on a journey of food, from “field to fork”. The children took part in many hands-on activities, fromgrinding grain and planting seeds, to tasting local produce. Upper One met farm animals, watched sheep being sheared and learned how farmers care for crops and livestock.
