Ursuline Preparatory School, Warley, hosted a Cultural & Diversity Day for staff and students alike to celebrate, recognise and unite the wide range of cultures that are represented within our school community.  As part of our ongoing work with The Diana Award Charity scheme, the only charity set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales and her belief that young people have the power to change the world. The charities mission is to empower young people to lead that change through a range of initiatives which unlock their potential, inspire action and create opportunities, ensuring that no young person is left out or left behind. This day was thought of by our Diana Award Ambassadors. Our Diana Award ambassadors at school created this day so that we could celebrate, recognise and demonstrate the diverse nature of our school showing how we can unite and celebrate one another and the differences between us all with

The school community came together during assembly so that we could explore but also enrich our understanding of the cultural diversity that we are surrounded by each and every day at school. Pupils were encouraged to attend school wearing clothing that they felt represented their cultural background either by colours or by traditional clothing that represented ethnicity, nationality and culture. We all enjoyed celebrating as a school community whilst successfully deepening our students’ understanding of other cultures and how integral and important diversity truly is.
