Lower Two – Viking Day

2026-05-10T19:17:02+01:00

Lower Two took part in a workshop run by ‘Portals to the Past’ on the Vikings. The class looked spectacularly fearsome in their Viking outfits. The children learnt about where the Vikings came from, how they first arrived as raiders in Britain but later became settlers. They learnt about the Viking Gods, and their homelife. The man conducting the workshop was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The children looked at a wide variety of artefacts and participated in a range of activities including Viking games and axe and spear throwing (not real ones). All of Lower Two thoroughly enjoyed their day. [...]

2026-05-05T11:04:18+01:00

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome our Junior School Choir and Orchestra as they performed for family and friends at our annual Spring concert, Music in the Natural World. The children have been rehearsing for many weeks and have worked extremely hard preparing for this special event. The evening opened with the orchestra performing Memory from Cats, followed by a lively and impressive rendition of The Pink Panther. The choir then joined the orchestra for a beautiful performance of What a Wonderful World—a first for our school, and a great success. We were also treated to a series of [...]

Transition – Space Day 2026

2026-04-24T17:07:13+01:00

Yesterday, Transition had an exciting and memorable Space Day! All the children came into school dressed as either an astronaut or alien. They all looked amazing. The classroom was transformed into outer space, with galaxies and nebula projected onto the ceiling, blacked out windows, and fairy lights creating a truly magical atmosphere. There was even a life-size cut out of Buzz Aldrin! Throughout the day, the children took part in a variety of space-themed activities. They enjoyed yoga with an astronaut on the International Space Station and played Space Bingo. One of the highlights of the day was tasting space [...]

Foundation Day 2026

2026-04-24T17:04:48+01:00

Today we enjoyed celebrating Foundation Day, our school’s birthday. All children and staff wore white flowers and/or white ribbons. Mrs. Parker-Litjens took a special assembly to mark the occasion, sharing information about our school’s foundation, its history, successes and about Mother Clare who founded the Brentwood Ursuline Convent School and her love of white flowers. Our thanks go to the PFA who organised ribbons and flowers for the children to wear.

2026-04-09T17:38:30+01:00

On Thursday 26th March, we took the mixed U9 tag rugby team to the Essex County Finals, held at Harlow Rugby Club. The children played exceptionally well throughout the day and finished top of their group in the opening phase of the competition. In the final stages, the team recorded one draw and one loss, resulting in an overall 3rd place finish out of 16 schools. This is a fantastic achievement, earned through their hard work and determination. They were a real credit to both themselves and the school.

Easter Hat Parade 2026

2026-04-09T17:33:42+01:00

On Tuesday 24th March, the Pre-Prep and Infant departments enjoyed a delightful Easter Parade in the afternoon, showcasing a wonderful selection of imaginative, home-made hats. It was a joy to see all the children taking part so enthusiastically and cheering one another on in such a supportive way. Prizes were awarded to one child from each class by our housekeepers, and every participant received a small gift in recognition of their efforts. Well done to all involved for making it such a memorable and uplifting occasion.
