Baby Ballet is now in full swing and the children are loving it. We ask our Upper and Lower Two Students to support the teacher during the lesson and they do a wonderful job. The children are coming along wonderfully and we look forward to watching you grow, learn and have fun.

Well done to the students from Year 4,5 and 6 for coming 3rd overall in the ISA Football Tournament and consequently qualifying for the ISA National Competition.

Well done to these Lower Two students who took their Grade Two singing exam. Fantastic news that they all passed with Distinction.

Upper Two started the new year with a day of fun at reflection at the retreat centre at New Hall School. Our day started with mass in the beautiful chapel, celebrated by Fr Andrew, who reminded us that God will always be with us in homily based on the Baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan. It was a wonderful way to begin the day and our energy was boosted with some rousing hymns, accompanied by the impressive chapel organ. We were thrilled to welcome Alice from Essex Libraries, who visited us at the end of term to present our children with the Champion of the year Summer Reading Challenge Cup. We had the highest percentage of children participate this summer and also the highest percentage improvement in participation. We are so happy to have won this cup but more so that so many of our children took part and read continuously during the summer break, this supports the children with their learning and helps them with all aspects of their education. On Thursday 4th December the children went Christmas shopping in our school hall! The hall was transformed into a marvellous shopping market, thanks to the hard work of the PFA. The children all had a fantastic time purchasing their gifts for family, friends and of course themselves. It was fabulous to see the children interacting with adults other than their own family and friends’ parents, in a safe, controlled environment. It was wonderful to welcome our entire school community to our annual Christmas Service of Praise and Thanksgiving in Brentwood Cathedral. It began with a solo sung by Jasmine, giving a spine tingling start to our Christingle. Our school orchestra filled the Cathedral with music as the children sang, danced, read and behaved brilliantly. We were all very proud of them. The children in the Pre-Prep department formed their Nativity tableau bringing gasps of delight to the congregation and everyone felt Christmas had really begun. On Friday 28th November we had two children from Upper Two who took part in the National Swimming Gala, which was held in the London Aquatic Centre. They were both excited and nervous but swam very well in their races, one finishing sixth place in the 50m breaststroke and 7th in the medley 200m relay race. Another child came sixth in the front crawl 200m relay race. A big congratulations to both children for making the county swimming team.

Lower One presented their first assembly as junior students on Wednesday. They did a fantastic job of explaining the four main British Values and their importance with a message that ‘Everyone is different and that is something that should be celebrated.’ Well done Lower One! 

The school is thrilled to announced that we have our third national art winner in just two years! A member of the Reception class gained a first place award in the 2D Individual EYFS Category with his amazing dinosaur painting. Well done!
