PFA & Parents
There is an active Parents and Friends Association (PFA) of which all parents are automatically members.
The aims of the PFA are:
- to foster the relationship between the staff, parents and others associated with the School;
- to engage in activities which support the School and advance the education of the pupils; and
- to enable members and their families to meet socially.
Over the past few years the PFA has funded the purchase of computers, computer software, science equipment, musical instruments, and many other items.

Events [back to top]
Fun Day 2010
This annual event took place on Saturday 10th July. It is organised and funded by the PFA and is open to all families at UPS. Many families took the opportunity to enjoy a picnic in the School grounds and the children enjoyed the many activities available. Please find below a selection of photographs taken by the PFA.
Easter Egg Hunt 2010
On the last day of the Easter Term the PFA kindly organised an Easter Egg Hunt for all of the children in the school. The Easter Bunnies and Chicks were there to assist the children, helping them to follow the clues to find some delicious Easter Eggs. Great fun was had by helpers and children. Many thanks to the PFA for all their efforts.
Easter Hat Parade
The children all looked fantastic! It was very difficult to select the winners of each class. Many thanks to all parents and children for their tremendous efforts.
Mothers Day Assembly for Pre-Prep and Infants
This annual event is always welcomed by pupils and parents and this year was no exception. The children presented their mothers with cards and flowers and performed and sang beautifully.

The Role of Parents [back to top]
The continuing success of the School is due in no small part to the support given by parents to the School’s aims and traditions.
Parents are encouraged to participate in School life on many occasions including some assemblies and celebratory Masses both in school and at the Cathedral. This participation engenders a closer relationship between parents and teachers.
Although there are parents/teacher interviews when parents can monitor their child’s progress with the class teacher and/or Headteacher, we are happy to discuss a child’s progress at any time by appointment.
