Literacy 2011

Reception class were delighted when two Upper One girls visited the class to read a story they had written as part of a writing competition.  The story which had won first prize for the girls was called, "Humphrey, the Lonely Pink Hippo," and was about a very special birthday party organised by King Lion for all the jungle animals except Humphrey, who had not been invited.  The story, however, has a happy ending when Humphrey saves the day after one of the acts planned for the party is too shy to perform.  The infants enjoyed listening to the story and looking at the illustrations.
