Curriculum

The curriculum develops lively, enquiring minds so that each child can realise his/her full potential and learn with interest and enthusiasm. We aim to set high standards through a gentle but firm introduction to school life. The curriculum is varied and wide, and is planned to ensure that children are prepared well for the next stage of their education.

Whilst the school places great emphasis on literacy and numeracy, it also includes I.C.T.,R.E., Music, Science, Physical Education, History, Geography, Art, Computer Studies, Elocution, P.S.H.E., French and Technology in the curriculum.

All the children are offered the opportunity of studying at least two languages, and one or more musical instruments.

Your child’s progress is monitored very carefully throughout the year. If individual help is required to overcome any problems or extend any particular talent or gift this is provided by internal and external specialist staff.

The Curriculum is enhanced by educational workshops.

Book Week 2010

As part of book week Anthony Lishask, who is a proffessional author, visited the shcool and read some of his books to classes within the school.  He told the children that many of his books are inspired by personal experience.  The Pre-Prep children read and enacted 'Clickety Clack'.

As part of Book Week the children dressed up as a character from the book that they were reading.  There were some fabulous costumes!  Below are just a few of the many photographs that were taken on the day.

Maths Theatre Group

In February a Maths Theatre Group visited the School and taught Maths in a very different way!  The Wild West Theme covered all different areas of Maths, including Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication and Place value.  They encouraged audience participation by singing songs, dancing and Quiz Questions.
